Simon Hepworth
Simon’s career started in Special Purpose Machinery design where he quickly demonstrated aptitude for solid Engineering and Manufacturing principles. Having also established strong CAD skills during this time, his career path turned away from core Engineering and into Specialist Metalwork and Facades. Tenures at SAS/Lindner, Astec Projects and more recently at Lakesmere and Kaicer (Building Envelope Solutions) allowed Simon to apply his core Engineering and Manufacturing knowledge to affect and deliver highly engineered architectural solutions. Much of his career has been spent based on site with over 20 years of experience, mainly working within complex civil engineering environments (Airports, Underground, Crossrail). Simon has a track record of resolving the highly complex and technical issues that are common in these project environments.
Simon is one of Metrics Design’s three founding Directors and he plays an active role in the delivery of design, with an emphasis on Specialist Metalwork, Façade Engineering and compliance. Simon thrives for creating simple, buildable, robust design solutions that adhere to the fundamental principles of Façade Engineering.
As a particular area of interest Simon has taken the technical aspect of Façade Engineering a stage further and is currently studying for an MSc in Façade Engineering at Bath University. Simon’s career prior to Metrics Design culminated in both a Design Directorship and Technical Directorship, and as such, his skill set not only includes excellent technical knowledge but also exceptional leadership, design management, and client relations skills.

Vaidy Srinivasen
Vaidy’s Career started in Product Design within the Security Sector and developed into various Consultancy roles primarily for UAE Royal family. Having moved to the Huffey Group, this developed into designing safer environments for NOMS (National Offenders Management Service / UK Home Office). Working in such industries confirmed Vaidy’s ability to work to high specifications, work with lateral thought processes and develop excellent problem-solving skills. The requirement for strict legislative adherence led Vaidy to Compliance and Process management where he found his skills allowed him to excel.
Through Post Graduate Education, Vaidy enhanced his Process Management skills and his passion for the discipline led to him accepting a role of Operational Manufacturing Lead for Wordsworth Holding (UK’s largest trailer and site dumper manufacturer). There he applied his learned knowledge through Process Analysis and implemented best practices based on Lean Methodologies.
At SAS International Vaidy managed to combine both his passion for Design and Process Engineering. His role there included the responsibilities of developing the corporate DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) strategy. His ability to analyse and implement Value Engineering changes to both design and manufacturing processes added significant value into the company’s workflow.
Now, with over 20 years’ experience, Vaidy holds an MBA (research interest on Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Strategy), MRes and BEng and is recognized as a leading authority in the application of Lean and Agile management strategies within the Design and Construction services sector.
Vaidy brings this wealth of experience to Metrics and he plays an active role in design, with emphasis towards the implementation of design process improvement both internally and for clients and he is actively seeking to develop best practice for the convergence of BIM and DfMA.
